Here is the Song - In Pioneer days, there was a village, Two miles away, called Cleverville
A booming town, with friendly people, Some think it would be there still
Except the railway, didn't go there, It past two miles, to the South West
And the people, with horse and buggy, Thought to move the town was best.
And so they moved, all the buildings. They dug basements, with their horse teams
It was a job, they were all proud of, It was the answer to their dreams.
And then a question, what would they name it? This little town, to the South West
A C.P.R. man, with the name of Champion, He was sure his name was best.
So they gave it consideration, To name a town, was a great task
They gathered meetings, to get ideas, And all the people they did ask.
And they named it, our little village

In the year of, 1911
Yes, they called it Champion.
It's 60 years ago this summer, This is the year, our jubilee
We are excited, and we're planning, For we will all go on a spree
A big parade, a picnic lunch, A bar-be-que, and fireworks
Antique display and Fashion Show, We will all be there you know!
And you're invited - to come to Champion
This year of - our Jubilee
Yes, you're invited - Come back to Champion
'Cause it's our - Diamond Jubilee.
