Community in Bloom
In 2005, the Champion Communities In Bloom committee was formed. Their goal was to beautify the village in preparation for their 95th Anniversary. Memorial benches, flower pots, new signs, trees and flower beds were placed around the village. Our Centennial Park was completed in 2007. This beautiful park behind the Community Hall has since been the site of weddings, grads and other special occasions. At the end of Main Street, the Heritage Park pays tribute to our past, present and future. This display includes two unique grain elevator silhouettes, an original coal car, a cedar footbridge and a bench.
Conoco Phillips is donating a pumpjack this summer to represent the oil and gas industry in our area.
